泊头职业学院是经河北省政府批准、教育部备案的国办全日制普通高校，实施专科层次教育。她是一所富有光荣革命传统的历史名校，其前身为1925年9月建校的“直隶省立第九师范学校”，新中国成立后，更名为“河北泊头师范学校”。2000年7月，更名为沧州师范专科学校泊头分校，开始招收全日制专科生，举办大学专科教育。2009年4月，经教育部备案批准，升格改建为泊头职业学院。建校九十三年来，学院文化薪火相传，形成了良好的校风、教风、学风，为河北省乃至全国培养了大批优秀人才，为民族解放、新中国诞生以及社会主义建设事业做出了令人瞩目的贡献，被誉为“津南革命的策源地”、“沧州黄埔”。
学院座落于素有“中国铸造名城”、“汽车模具之乡”、“中国鸭梨第一乡”之称的泊头市，东临渤海，北依京津，交通便利。
学院占地571亩，建筑面积17.6万平米，固定资产总值2.6亿元。主校区位于泊头市中心解放西路150号，建有4栋教学楼、4栋实训楼、9栋学生公寓、4座学生餐厅、办公楼、图书馆、高标准体育场等。学院教学科研环境优越，拥有设备齐全、条件完备的各类实习实训室及专业教室，建有校园宽带网，图书馆藏书43.8万册，电子图书500GB。校园环境优美，绿化率达40%以上，绿树葱茏，芳草含碧，百花飘香，亭台楼阁掩映其间，被河北省政府命名为花园式学校、省级绿色学校，是兴学育人的理想场所。
学院的办学目标是以教育类专业为主导，以经济管理类、装备制造类、艺术社会服务类专业为辅翼，立足沧州及渤海新区，面向全省，辐射环渤海区域，服务于京津冀一体化，服务区域经济发展，坚持应用型、开放式、有特色、高水平的办学定位，构建多元化人才培养体系，为社会培养大批高素质技术技能型人才，为地方经济社会发展提供智力支撑和人力资源保障。
学院现设学前教育系一部、学前教育系二部、机械设计系、经济管理系等教学机构。开设有学前教育、小学教育、机械制造与自动化、机电一体化技术、模具设计与制造、汽车制造与装配技术、计算机网络技术、艺术设计、会计、市场营销、物流管理等24个专业。其中学前教育专业被河北省高等职业教育创新发展行动计划（2015—2018年）确立为省级骨干专业建设项目；模具设计与制造、物流管理、艺术设计为中央财政重点支持发展专业；学前教育、计算机网络技术、会计、艺术设计为学院骨干专业；学前教育专业为学院特色专业。
2013年，在渤海新区中捷产业园区的高教园区内，与中捷产业园区合作建立了泊头职业学院渤海分校。2015年，将工科专业整体迁至渤海分校。
泊头职业学院与秦皇岛市德润计算机信息技术服务有限公司合作项目、与武汉慧众聚成科技有限公司合作项目，是我院“引企入校”的两个校企合作项目，采用企业和学院共同管理，共同培养，企业负责学生就业的订单式培养模式。
学院师资力量雄厚。近年来，不断引进高层次人才和优秀教师，现有专任教师222人，来自各行业一线的兼职教师38人。拥有高级职称的教师48人，硕士以上学位61人。学院大力开展“职教大讲堂”、“职业教育论坛”、“青蓝工程”、“青年教师教学技能大赛”，加强教师的培训和培养，锻造了一支“师德高尚、业务精湛、技能娴熟、结构合理”的教师队伍。其中双师素质教师达到33%，河北省“三三三人才工程”二层次人才1人，全国优秀教师1人、特级教师3人，河北省教学名师1人，河北省优秀教师5人，河北省优秀教学团队1个，曾宪梓基金奖获得者3人，沧州市专业技术拔尖人才6人。
学院坚持“校企合作、工学结合”的人才培养模式，高度重视校企合作和学生实习就业工作。目前校外实训基地有90个。学院坚持就业导向，高度重视就业指导与服务工作，形成了由院领导挂帅，就业处牵头，系部书记、辅导员参加的联席工作机制。通过顶岗实习、就业招聘会等形式，为学生提供就业、创业指导与服务。近两年学生就业率94%，用人单位满意度93%，获得了良好的社会评价。
学院连续多年被评为文明单位、示范学校、教学实绩突出单位、精神文明学校、先进领导集体、先进基层党组织。2007年7月，学院被河北省委省政府命名为“河北省教育先进集体”。

A Brief Introduction to Botou Vocational College

Botou Vocational College, which carries out the education of junior college level, is a state-owned full-time college approved by Hebei Provincial Government and filed with Ministry of Education. The college is a very famous historical school with glorious revolutionary tradition. It was founded in September, 1925, and at that time its name was No.9 Provincial Normal School in Zhili Province. The name of the school was changed into Hebei Botou Normal School after the founding of new China. In July, 2000, the name of the school was changed into Cangzhou teachers’ College, Botou Branch and the school began to recruit full-time junior college students and carry out junior college education. In April, 2009, approved by Hebei Provincial Government and filed with the Ministry of Education, the school was upgraded into an independent college and its name was changed into Botou Vocational College. Over ninety-three years of education experiences, the college has trained a large number of excellent talents for Hebei province and the whole country, and has made great contributions to the national liberation, the birth of New China and the economic construction of our country. Meanwhile, the college has formed its good school spirit, teaching spirit and learning spirit, which have been handed down from generation to generation. The college has long been called “the cradle of revolution south of Tianjin” and has a good fame of “the Huangpu Military Academy in Cangzhou” 
The college is located in Botou city which has long been called “the famous casting city in China ”, “the hometown of automobile mould” and “the first town of Chinese Ya pear ”. With Bohai Sea on the east, Beijing City and Tianjin City on the north, the city has a good geographical position, and the transportation is also very convenient.  
The college covers an area of 571 mu, among which the building area is 176,000 square meters. The college owns a total fixed assets value of RMB260 million Yuan, The main campus of the college is located at 150, West Jiefang Road, which is in the central district of the city. In the college, there are 4 classroom buildings, 4 practical training buildings, 9 students’ apartment buildings and 4 students’ dining halls. There is also an administrative building, a library building, a high standard sports stadium on the campus. With a complete set of teaching facilities, with all kinds of professional laboratories and classrooms, and with a collection of 438,000 books and 500 GB of electronic books in the library, the college has superior teaching and scientific research environment. With a greening rate of more than 40%, with a large area of green trees, green grass, beautiful flowers and many graceful pavilions, the scenery of the campus is very nice and charming. The college has been entitled “garden school” and “provincial green school” by Hebei provincial government. It is indeed an ideal place for schooling and education.
The development goal of the college is to take the specialties of educations as its main body, and the specialties of economic management, equipment manufacturing, arts and social services as its auxiliary wings; to stand at Cangzhou and Bohai New District while facing the whole province and radiating to the Circum-Bohai-Sea Region; to serve the Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Integration and regional economic development; to insist on the school-running orientation of application, opening, characteristic and high level; to construct a diversified talent cultivation system; to train a large number of high-quality skilled talents for the society; and to provide intelligent support and human resource guarantee to the regional economic and social development.

The college has the educational institutions of Preschool Education Department (I), Preschool Education Department (II), Mechanical and Design Department, Economic Management Department, etc. In these departments, there are 24 specialties or majors for students to choose, such as preschool education, primary school education, machinery manufacturing and automation, electromechanical integration technology, mould design and manufacturing, automobile manufacturing and assembly technique, computer network technique, art design, accounting, marketing, logistics management, etc. Among these specialties, the specialty of preschool education is identified as the provincial backbone specialty construction project by the Hebei Province Higher Vocational Education Innovation and Development Action Plan (2015-2018), the mould design and manufacturing, the logistics management and the art design are the key specialties financed by the national central finance, and the specialty of preschool education is the characteristic specialty of the college. In 2013, the college cooperated with Zhongjie Industrial Zone and they jointly establish Botou Vocational College, Bohai Branch in the Park of Higher Education of Zhongjie Industrial Zone, Bohai New District. In 2015, all the mechanical engineering specialties moved to Botou Vocational College, Bohai Branch.
Botou Vocational College has two college-enterprise cooperative projects. One is the computer network specialty jointly established with Qinhuangdao Derun Computer Information Technology Service Co., Ltd., the other is the electronic commerce specialty jointly established with Wuhan Huizhongjucheng Technology Co., Ltd. For the students in these two specialties, “Order-type cultivation mode” is adopted. That is to say, the two specialties are jointly managed and the students in these two specialties are jointly educated and trained by both the college and the enterprise, and when the students graduate, the enterprise is responsible for their employment.
The college has strong faculty strength. In recent years, high-level talents and excellent teachers are constantly introduced into the college. Up to now, in the college, there are 222 full-time teachers and 38 part-time teachers who come from the front production line of all industries, and there are 48 teachers with senior academic title and 61 teachers with master’s degree. For teacher’s training, the college has held many academic activities like “vocational education lecture”, “vocational education forum”, “Qing-Lan Project” and “the young teachers teaching skill competition”, which help to create an excellent faculty with the feature of“reasonable structure, noble morality, with concern and love for the students, and with high professional quality and perfect professional skills”. Among all the teachers in the college, there is 1 second-level talent of the 30-300-3000 Talents Project carried out in Hebei Province, 3 excellent teachers of national level, 3 special grade teachers, 1 outstanding teacher of Hebei provincial level, 5 excellent teachers of Hebei provincial level, 1 excellent teaching team of Hebei provincial level, 3 Tsang-Hin-Chi fund award winners and 6 top-notch professional skill talents of Cangzhou municipal level. 33% of the teachers in the college are double-professionally-titled teachers.     
The college always takes “College-enterprise cooperation and work-integrated learning” as its talent cultivation mode, and attaches more importance to college-enterprise cooperation and the students’ internship and employment. Now the college has 90 off-campus practical training bases. The college insists on the principle of employment-orientation in the educational work, pays more attention to the work of employment guidance and service, and has formed a jointly working mechanism of “leading by the college leaders, initiating by the Department of Employment, and participating by the Party secretaries and counselors of the department” to do work of employment guidance and service well. The college always provides the students with employment and entrepreneurship guidance and service by means of post practice, job fair, etc. In recent two years, with graduate employment rate of 94% and the employers’ satisfaction rate of 93%, the college has won praises from all walks of life.
